| The Orange Tree Theatre in the London Borough of Richmond has now signed contracts with Solar Services to provide solar water heating to its theatre in Richmond town centre. The Orange Tree Theatre, London's only permanent theatre in the round, is one of the most highly respected ‘off-West-End’ venues.
The system is used to provide hot water without the associated pollution of burning conventional fossil fuels, thereby reducing the overall ‘carbon footprint’ of the building. Hot water use is daily for both staff and performers and therefore a large part of the theatre’s energy bill. There are a number of commercial applications for solar water heating and the company is happy to talk through any ideas for current or future projects.
Established in Bournemouth in 1981, Solar Services specialises in Solar Heating, Heat Pumps and Rainwater Harvesting. Previous contracts include Ford Motor Company, Department of Social Security, The National Trust and Her Majesty’s Armed Forces Bases. |
