Solar Services has now been awarded the contract to provide their ‘Rainharvester’ system to Ford Motor Co. in Dagenham. The ‘Rainharvester’ system is able to collect rainwater and filter it before pumping it into the building for use. Solar Services have been installing the ‘Rainharvester’ for over 5 years and customers have documented savings of over 70%. If the customer is on a water meter then the savings will also apply to the sewage portion of the bill. So, that’s a 70% saving on 2 bills!

Ford is carrying out substantial additions and refurbishments to an existing facility. Once complete, the facility will incorporate a larger, modern showroom and numerous service bays. The Rainharvester is part of a range of renewable energy measures. Located only 10 miles from the City of London, the development will create a major new Thames-side landmark for the capital and will make a key contribution to the renewable energy targets outlined in the Mayor's draft energy strategy - preventing the emission of up to 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.
