| The Guildford based abattoir run by Chitty Wholesale Ltd. has recently signed contracts with Solar Services to provide solar water heating to its facility in Surrey.
The abattoir uses jets of hot water for steam cleaning after the production process. The high temperatures achieved by the solar leaves a much smaller amount of power required via conventional fossil fuel based heating. The system is also used to provide hot water to the office facility. This is without the associated pollution of burning conventional fossil fuels, thereby reducing the overall ‘carbon footprint’ of the building, lowering the fuel bills and increasing profitability.
There are a number of commercial applications for solar water heating and the company is happy to talk through any ideas for current or future projects.
Established in Bournemouth in 1981, Solar Services specialises in Solar Heating, Heat Pumps and Rainwater Harvesting. Previous contracts include Ford Motor Company, Department of Social Security, The National Trust and Her Majesty’s Armed Forces Bases. |
